Perfumes to Suit You

When it comes down to your special day, you want to smell as lovely as you look. Finding that perfect perfume can truly make your final look complete and it also adds that extra glow of confidence on your wedding day. Whether you’re going for a timeless classic or just your all time favourite fragrance, it’s important to know how to use perfume wisely when it comes down to your wedding.

Begin by narrowing down your favourite scents -it’s worth experimenting with a few here and there. Be sure to test it on your skin rather than test paper, this way you’ll get a better idea of how the scent sits on your skin. Leave it to dry for at least 30 minutes and see how you find the smell. It’s worth wearing the perfume for the whole day and seeing how long it lasts for as that way you’ll know whether you’ll need a top up now and then.

Don’t over spray. Over spraying can cause the scent to become too over bearing and not smell the way it's supposed too. Although you may think your perfume is lovely, some of your guests might not. If you go overboard with your perfume, it can actually put off some of your guests in the first place. Over spraying your perfume can also make you feel a bit stuffy. Your most likely going to be feeling a little apprehensive on your wedding day, so over spraying may actually give you a headache or make you feel a little nauseous.

Use a perfume that represents you. If you’re not a massive fan of flowery scents, don’t buy a rose-based perfume. Your wedding day is about you and if you're not feeling yourself on your wedding day it will show. It also depends on what type of wedding you’re having. If you’re having a summer wedding then fresh, fruity scents will be nice and light during hot weather. Flower-based fragrances are of course ideal for spring weddings. Warm scents that include snippets of ginger are perfect for Autumn weddings, as they go hand in hand with the orange, yellow and brown settings of this season. You can go either way with winter weddings, but it’s best to use classic scents that are loved by everybody and, most importantly, loved by you!

It’s important to remember that the sense of smell is the strongest sense linked to memory. The more you smell, the more you’ll remember!
